Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has done it in his age-22 season. Furthermore, he joins his father along with Prince and Cecil Fielder as the only father-son combos in baseball history to achieve the 40-home run feat.
Here is the highlight clip of the historic blast:
Sometimes in life to see where you’re going, you have to look back at where you have been. As fate would have it, if you go all the way back to April with just a few fans in the stands in the Bronx, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. hit his first home run of the 2021 season into the right field stands.
Now on Labor Day in the Bronx with almost an entire season in the rear view mirror, he’s hit the 40 home run mark. I have to be honest: I didn’t think Guerrero Jr. was a 40-home run bat. He’s answered the bell and overcome a lot along the way to do what many didn’t think he would do. Now he’s going to have a historic season on the back of his stat line.
Let it be written that for a moment in time, Guerrero Jr. was baseball’s best hitter.
