Pete Alonso & Cody Bellinger at Citi Field is Lovely

[Box Score]

Above you have the NL MVP with the NL Rookie of the Year. Or the NL MVP and Rookie of the Year with a guy having a hell of a year with the Dodgers, I’m not quite sure yet.

Still, Cody Bellinger got a couple knocks to hang on for another day. The Dodgers ran away with this one in which Clayton Kershaw was a bit better than Noah Syndergaard. The Los Angeles Dodgers slowed down the New York Mets and continue their charge towards 100 wins with their 96th.

Rookie Gavin Lux had the big blow in this one, a three-run shot which was the second of his career.

That made it 4-1 and the Dodgers ran away and hid from there. Corey Seager had a couple knocks off Thor, and continues to own him to a tune of 7 for 10 in his career. Chris Taylor had a pinch-hit RBI triple. Max Muncy returned to the lineup which is great to see.

The Dodgers are preparing for a big time showdown in October with someone. The Mets opted not to start Alonso, who entered and walked twice. J.D. Davis homered in the first off Kershaw but after that, there wasn’t much offense to speak of for New York.
