You mean they're going to tear down the Tropicana?

This is the $450 million dollar stadium which is projected to sit at the waterfront of St. Petersburg. It would replace Tropicana Field, which has been the team’s only home since 1998. I guess it has lost its luster. I always wondered why exactly, that a team who plays in sunny Florida plays in a dome.

The new proposed field will have a retractable roof, in the shape of a sail boat. Call me a grumpy old coot, but when your team plays in a structure that is designed by its architect to look like a sail boat, maybe you’re missing the point?
