Indians 7, Rangers 5

I don’t want to get into too much of a recap-situation about this one. I’ll let you check out the Paul Hoynes wrap up for that, but the Indians took care of business last night in a stadium that has historically been a house of horrors for them for as long as I have followed this club. Something else I have noticed is that the Indians now sit with the second best record in baseball, tied with the Boston Red Sox and just two games behind the red hot Tigers.

With the win last night the Indians keep pace, and keeping pace with this Tigers team is really saying something. The best two teams in all of baseball really might be in the AL Central. No one would have thought that at year’s beginning, especially me.

The Indians seemingly get contributions from a different source every single night, and last night’s team effort was no different. Grady Sizemore had 2 hits including a homerun that would put the Indians ahead for good. He also laced an RBI single. C.C. Sabathia didn’t have his best stuff but he did pick up win #13. Trot Nixon had a big 2-run double with 2 outs. The Indians have three more games in Texas and they need them all. They can’t afford to fall anymore behind Detroit who appears to be getting stronger as the summer sun heats up.
