Alright, so we’ve given MLB The Show ’11 another chance.
It’s still way too hard to hit. And I don’t care what anyone says. And the computer has boomerang comebacks the inning after you score. Play the game on Hall of Fame and you’ll want to pull all your hair out. But above is video of a foretold 545-foot blast by Jayson Werth at Nationals Park “in Washington”.
I now can only think about how badly I want to get home to my console and try and hit one into some insane landmark with Votto, Rolen, Bruce or one of the boys. That is if I could hit, which I can’t.

use batting practice for a good hour or go to HR derby and work on timing. Are you playing on an HDTV, if so make sure you have gaming mode enabled
Or try

I’ve tried everything. The game is just buggy at hitting my man. When you swing and Timing is ‘Perfect’ and Contact is ‘Superb’ and it’s a weak ground out down to third instead of a shot; it’s just buggy hitting. It’s okay, it’s alright to say the game is not perfect.
awww man, superb early = HR too bad youre missing out on a great game
Superb/Early is not always a HR although it should be. I been playing the game but it’s just screwy on hitting. So many balls right down the middle should be hammered and it’s a weakly hit ball. I don’t know. It’s a cool game but just a little disappointing, too hard to hit. And I haven’t even jumped into the comeback AI which is automatic! Every game the computer has a boomerang comeback leading to blown saves. You score 3, look out, the CPU is gonna score 5 in the bottom of the frame.
Gotta agree with Mevs. I use the ANALOG HITTING just because its a lot of fun…but when i get the timing PERFECT and contact SUPERB stuff and hit a grounder back to Verlander its tough. I think what u have to do is have the ball be a little more than half way up the circle and then u can get under it. Either way………hardest god damn hitting I have ever played. Im workin on it though.
PS Hitting with Pujols is the hardest because his hip motion is so fast its hard to time. Cano on the other hand im hitting like .400 with. Everyone else is batting like .220.
PPS. I cant get Adrian Gonzalez out. Just cant do it.
Dave thank you dude. I know I’m not losing my mind here.
no problem. I still am trying to figure out if i should do the analog or the buttons…tough call…buttons are easier but analog is more fun but also harder.
Heard it here first…Cabrera is going to conquer Comerica’s size and win the triple crown this year. Watchin him hit is somethin else….depressed or not he can hit. Haha.
lol @ superb perfect automatic HR go play MLB 2K Da Bigs
Cant get Luke Scott out either. But at least that’s consistent from year to year for me. Haha. Terrible.
@HustlinOwl I feel like I am playing MLB2k or the Bigs sometimes. How many times do I have to time it up perfect only to see Scott Rolen or Joey Votto swinging at the top of the zone and not at a ball right down broadway? That’s terrible. Look, my team is hitting .211 after 13 games. That’s not real baseball. My entire lineup is littered with studs hitting .167ish. There’s been enough guys complaining about this aside from me–so I know you’re smart enough to know exactly what I’m talking about. If you’re a fanboy you’re a fanboy, but why lie to ourselves here?
I am a fanboy, but I along with plenty others are not having any issues with hitting.
I could say the same thing though; I mean there are TONS of guys out there who I see talking everything to sliders to HD tv’s to 720 or 1080p. None of which were we talking about last year. I messed with all of that and the hitting is still whacky man. I’m on OS but it’s an agenda driven board. They’re strict and you’re not allowed to speak openly and honestly. Game isn’t ruined but they’ve definitely bugged the hitting.
Do yourself a favor and head over to Operation Sports for some much needed help with your skills
My skills are fine. They were fine last year. I’m hitting .211 as a team. It’s gameplay. You been spending too much time with ‘Enigma Nemesis’ types on Operation Sports. You could feed that guy a turd and he would still rant and rave about what a great game it is. Those guys are all over Op. Sports.
I hear you man, seem like a bunch fan-boys at O.S. I swear that Enigma Nemesis dude comes off as a shill.
