It was 2002, a hot August 7th night and we were lucky enough to see the Rocket Roger Clemens mow down the Kansas City Royals. I remember it like it was yesterday. Upper deck at Yankee Stadium. I couldn’t believe all the ethnic looking people I saw entering the game in the Bronx that night. It was a long ways away from the country I’d grown up playing sandlot baseball in, using gloves of the team at bat as bases.
We weren’t legal drinking age but we still had our fun that trip. And you never forget your first trip to the cathedral.
