Your Saturday Baseball Post

It’s a summer Saturday and the little league seasons are wrapping up – if they happened at all. Normally, this is the dog days of summer. Now, it’s a couple weeks into the shrivel of the 2020 season.

Still, it’s our duty to put the flag at half mass. Surely we aren’t happy with things like the way the players and owners squabbled over money. We aren’t happy with how one positive test shuts multiple organizations down for weeks at a time. We aren’t happy with the game bending the knee and politicizing the sport. We aren’t happy with the non-usage of the 30-man ‘taxi squad’ when there are COVID-19 positive tests.

However, at the root of it all, the game is still the same game we grew up watching and playing.

It’s Saturday, and there’s a full slate except for two teams.

Your Saturday song of the week that should be played on a ballpark loudspeaker nearest you is by Steve Winwood:

That’s a song about life. It’s deep, man.

So go and enjoy your Saturday. Thank you for your continued support of Diamond Hoggers. Roll onward.
