Dodgers Survive Wildcard Game Thriller With St. Louis

[Box Score]

First off, what a win. A hero of postseason’s past hit a two-run home run off Alex Reyes in the bottom of the ninth to walk off the St. Louis Cardinals. The Los Angeles Dodgers ride onward to defend their title in an NLDS against the San Francisco Giants on Friday night.

Most importantly, it seemed like the old Cody Bellinger was back. He had three good at-bats, not sporting the ear flap from years past; Bellinger has a haircut and looked like the MVP he used to be for one night.

He singled and drew two walks, also stealing two bases successfully against Yadier Molina. The Dodgers conquered one of the hottest teams in the entire league and dug out of a 1-0 hole with a home run from Justin Turner. The bullpen was phenomenal getting them out of big spots late in the game all night long.

Simply, the better team just went out and won a game in Los Angeles on Wednesday night. It’s great to see them write an unexpected script with some of the key core to the run all these years contributing.
