Padres Get Monster Win, Tatis Jr. Home Run, and Mural
On Friday night in San Diego, the Mariners got absolutely steamrolled by Fernando Tatis Jr. and the Padres. Furthermore, the city of San Diego unveiled a mural of Tatis Jr. which really is a way for a city to anoint a chosen son.
Tatis Jr. had a huge game in hitting his 50th career home run, and driving in 4 runs with another stolen base in the 16-1 victory.
It was another backside shot, and the Padres used it as the exclamation point in their seventh straight victory.
Suddenly, Chris Paddack looks like a decent option in the rotation, as he went six innings allowing just 3 hits, one earned run and striking out six for his 2nd victory of the year.
In addition, Jake Cronenworth homered and drove in five runs with three hits. Jurickson Profar had three hits. Trent Grisham homered and had two hits, and Tommy Pham added a multiple hit game.
