Twins: Byron Buxton’s 5-Hit Afternoon in Cleveland

[Box Score]

It seems like every time he takes the field, Byron Buxton does something phenomenal for the Minnesota Twins in 2021. On Wednesday afternoon in Cleveland, it was no different. Finally the Twins got off the proverbial schneid, and won the series finale from the Indians.

Indeed, Buxton leading off the game with a home run and collecting five hits in all. He fell just a triple short of the cycle.

His 8th home run of the 2021 campaign went out to the opposite field. Later in the game he added a stolen base which was just his second of the season.

Right now the 27-year old is hitting .438 with a 1.408 OPS. To put things into proper perspective, he went 5 for 5 and his OPS went down.

He’s taken over the lead in WAR in all of baseball and there are still a few days left in April in what just might be his first Player of the Month honors in the American League.
