Angels: Mike Trout Homers on Jackie Robinson Day in Anaheim

Thus far, it hasn’t been the season that we wanted for the Anaheim Angels. Still, they have Mike Trout. In a season that seemed geared towards getting Trout to his second postseason appearance in his career, the Angels are going to run out of games. They have sputtered for too long, and today they actually traded Tommy La Stella.

However, Trout would have his say in a 3-2 win against the Seattle Mariners. In fact, it held up to be the winning run.

It was just the Angels’ 11th win of the 2020 season, giving them one more then the worst team in the American League, a distinction held by the Boston Red Sox.

Their pitching is desolate. The trade of La Stella to Oakland is a sign of things to come where the Angels might sell off some firewood veterans for small future considerations in a season that matters. And once again, the Angels have let a season of Mike Trout’s magical career slide away.
