Mets: Dusty Baker Being Considered For Manager in New York

Dusty Baker is being considered for the New York Mets manager position, report multiple sources. While he’s 70 years old, this move makes sense. Baker is ready to step in with a ‘win now’ ballclub like the Mets, and has familiarity with the National league.

Here’s according to the NY Post:

An industry source told The Post on Friday that Dusty Baker, who wasn’t seriously considered for the job before Carlos Beltran got hired, is now part of the discussion among team officials, who are forced to move swiftly in filling the position.

It’s not like Baker would bothered by the pressure of managing in The Big Apple. I like this better than Beltran arguably. The guy is a baseball relic. I hope it happens.
