Cody Bellinger Hits 38th Homer, Dodgers Beat Dbacks

The Dodgers did their job and took a series in winning a series against the Arizona Diamondbacks with a 9-3 win on Sunday afternoon at Chavez Ravine.

And Cody Bellinger did his thing once again, hitting his 38th home run of the season. Bellinger needed this one bad.

Hovering around .240 since the All-Star break, Bellinger is trying to finish off his first MVP award and he has strong competition. That said, it’s all within striking distance. One more hot streak would finish things off for him, I believe.

Hyun-Jin Ryu was on the mound for the first time since July 31st, and he didn’t allow a run. He’s dominating the NL right now. This would give the Dodgers a chance at a Cy Young, and Most Valuable Player. It’s rare to see both take place.

Justin Turner homered twice in this game. Suddenly the lineup of Max Muncy-Turner-Bellinger-Seager-Will Smith-Alex Verdugo and others in the mix looks pretty formidable if the Dodgers can ever get anyone fully healthy.
