Your Saturday Baseball Post

It’s Saturday, and we’re in New Jersey for a wedding. Being out here brings back a lot of fond memories since my first time in Jersey in 2004. I drove past Craig Biggio’s brother in law’s liquor store today. I talked to some old school Yankees fans where my father in law lives.

It’s not hard to imagine some of the old Yankees like Billy Martin, Mickey Mantle, and Whitey Ford enjoying a breakfast hungover at one of these nearby diners on the shore. When we got home tonight, I turned on YES which is available local and saw the Yankees lose to the Royals.

The Mets are in town, but for our short trip I didn’t really have a chance to get to Citi and the Phillies and Yankees are on the road. Possibly later in the summer if we come out, or in future summers when our kids are more grown and I can spend a little bit more time out here on the eastern coast.

Your 1980’s song of the week that should be played on a ballpark loudspeaker nearest you is a good one. Bruce Hornsby, The Way It Is.

So go and enjoy your Saturday. Wherever you may be, make it a good one. Thank you for your continued support of Diamond Hoggers. We always put the flag at half mass on a Saturday during the baseball season. Your baseball commentary and observations on this Saturday are welcome here in the comments section.
