Holy Byron Buxton

Byron Buxton is coming along, boy.

Since July 4th, Buxton is hitting over .350 with nine homers, a near .400 on-base, and a near 1.000 OPS.

He has ten steals without one caught stealing in that time. He’s all the while an elite defender. After being left for dead by so many; Buxton is carrying the Minnesota Twins in the absence of Miguel Sano. He’s just 23, and it looks like he is finally delivering on the high pedigree he had coming out of the minor leagues.

On Sunday, he had the game of his career. He homered three times, had four hits and four runs scored. He’s a monster right now.

And good on the Twinkies. It’s nice to see a team with no bullpen and no rotation hanging around in the Wildcard Race. For the wildcard, we would love to see it end up the Yankees and either the Angels or Twins.
