Mookie Betts and Chris Sale were at it again at Fenway in Pink

[Box Score]
[Joy of Sox]

Mookie Betts has had himself a week. He’s shown he’s the best player in baseball pound-for-pound not named Mike Trout this week, I think. The Sox might miss David Ortiz, but Betts has shown this week he’s able to carry a team when he’s on.

Brandishing a pink bat, and pink Nike Air Jordan’s at Fenway today; Betts again took the game over. I had the Red Sox in a bet today, and Chris Sale was on the bump. Sale allowed a pair of homers to lefties(!) Logan Morrison and Kevin Kiermaier. The Sox were trailing, until Mookie brought the dagger.

The Red Sox added a couple more as I watched this game at my uncle’s in Cincinnati. Betts doubled off the wall later in the game. Sale again struck out double digits like usual. Craig Kimbrel locked it down without a problem in the ninth for his 11th save. The Red Sox weren’t letting this game get away.
