It just hit me that Frankie Lindor could be the AL MVP, easily

Last night – and full disclosure – I realize we’re just three games into the season. But last night, I felt like the Indians come from behind win was a season-defining type of win.

Look at Francisco Lindor’s raw emotion as he rounds the bases. It’s incredible. It’s what the game is all about. Great kid, homers for the second time in the game to earn redemption from an earlier error that looked like had blown the game. Indians sweep in Arlington. It was a total statement. The Indians are back and they’re out for blood. And their headliner is a true MVP candidate in the American League.

It’s not that far-fetched that Lindor comes out of nowhere as the best player on one of the best teams in the AL to win the award. I don’t know why I didn’t have him in my top three prior to the season. It was a clear oversight, as he proved during last year’s postseason that no stage was too big for him and he is clearly a guy who could take the next step and win the hardware.

It was a magical moment – and I’m happy for my Indians fan friends. I can’t act like I’m part of this. The Indians have climbed close to back to the top of the baseball zenith and I haven’t been on board at all. But I am happy for my friends. Soak it in, and enjoy. The first three games signal that you’re in for a fun ride.
