The Asking Price on Chris Sale is higher than around last July’s Trade Deadline

This post is just to point out that Chris Sale is still being nibbled on by teams, thus meaning his name is going to be in trade rumors. He’s available if someone wants to pay a king’s ransom. I’ve personally heard the Dodgers, Braves, and Nationals as teams who are giving bites. My take on this is as unlikely as it looks, I do think Sale will be traded before Opening Day 2017 in the offseason’s biggest move.

I liken this to the NFL football draft, and we always hear this time of year that ‘there’s no first round Quarterback in this draft’. Then before draft night, teams are fighting for the need to trade into the number one and number two spots in the draft.

As time goes on, teams will come up on what they’re offering. If you’re really in the market for an ace, you’ll give a little more. There’s nothing keeping Chris Sale in Chicago with that roster that needs over-hauled. At the end of the day, Jerry Reinsdorf will sign off on a deal that sends a huge return to his system and bids adieu to an ace that showed some qualities of being human last year.
