Your Saturday Baseball Post

1961-Willie-Mays

Welcome to Saturday, the best day of the week to be a baseball fan; the best day of the week just in general. If you’re like us, you’ve already been up and at it for a few hours and seen the wild parts of of ‘Africa’ or ‘the Congo’ at your local zoo.

And yet the day in baseball is just beginning. The Nationals and Cubs kicked off things with a neat noon start time in the nation’s capital. The Redlegs have an afternoon tilt with the Padres in the queen city. There are actually three games that start after the 10:00 eastern time hour including one at Dodger Stadium, which means if you want to fall asleep to Vin Scully, you can. There’s virtually baseball going on from the time you start your day until you go to bed today. That’s the way it should be for the first Saturday in June; now that it’s officially summer time.

Here’s one from 1984, your 80’s song of the week that should be played at a ballpark loudspeaker near you:

This song also has a quiet cameo in Breaking Bad as the series begins to roll towards it’s ending. You will miss it if you aren’t watching (or listening) closely.

So enjoy your Saturday. Thank you for your continued support of Diamond Hoggers, and the game of baseball. The greatest sport on the planet.
