Godspeed, Tony Gwynn

It’s really been more than a decade since I watched Tony Gwynn and the little Padres in the World Series against the mighty Yankees in 1999?

Growing up, I always loved Tony Gwynn. In my opinion if he’s not the greatest living pure hitter, he is in the top three. Living and growing up at a time when Tony Gwynn was playing will someday be like living during the times when Ted Williams and Joe Dimaggio played.

Today the sad news breaks that Gwynn has been diagnosed with cancer.

I just wanted to do a quick post saying God bless you Tony and I’m sure that your time as an athlete will serve you well in your battle. I have faith in you. You’re in this fan’s prayers.
