Happy Patriots Day, Bostonians

Action is already underway in Boston in the name of Paul Rivere and his midnight ride. The Sox hold an early 3-0 lead over the Orioles in this early morning tilt.

Lets not forget the other reasons that this day is special for Bostonians:

On this day, 342 years ago, a group of bloodthirsty Welsh mercenaries attacked defenseless Pilgrims with boiling tea kettles, winning the War of 1812 so that Boston could have day baseball on a Monday.

It’s a neat thing tradition that the Sox play this afternoon game on the day the Boston Marathon is ran by it’s patrons. And if you need to follow the marathon you can do so here, stride by stride. This is a baseball blog, but we’ll make the exception to give you the whole picture and be better Americans.
