Reds & Bailey do not like Cheesesteaks, Cole Hamels

The first time Homer Bailey pitched in Philly things just didn’t go well. The second time around they ran into bad luck and Cole Hamels, which could be classified as ‘more bad luck’. Bailey threw well, allowing only 1 earned run and 4 hits in 6.1 innings, but lost to Hamels who threw a shutout 3-hitter. This was the second shutout in young Hamels’ career.
Jay Bruce began his 2nd week as a pro by wearing an 0 for 4 collar.
The Reds lost 3 of 4 in Philly and now head to Florida for a series against the Marlins. Clearly the Phillies proved in this series that they’re now one of the top teams in the entire NL, as well as having one of the most dominating hitters in the game currently in Chase Utley.
If you’re a Reds fan, you must just take solace in the fact that Homer Bailey is up with the big team and pitched well. Thats a solid starting rotation now that the ‘5th spot’ is solidified with Bailey who is an upgrade over Josh Fogg/Matt Belisle, and in my opinion is better than Johnny Cueto and Bronson Arroyo.
