The Last Opener at Shea Stadium

While Bill Buckner was throwing out the first pitch at Fenway Park, Shea Stadium opened up for the final time.

I’ve got 80 more chances to get to Shea Stadium before it goes down forever. No matter what happens, it will be a weekend trip, and it will be written about on this blog. I’d rather visit Shea Stadium than any other park in baseball.

As for the game, Carlos Delgado homered and the Mets carried a 2-0 lead into the 7th inning before allowing the Phillies to take the lead and Jamie Moyer to get the victory.

Ironically enough, the next home to the Mets is named after the company in which I now will work for. Hope they’ve got some tickets when I get out east.
