Random Player Review: Andujar Cedeno

Andujar Cedeno

Andujar Cedeno played shortstop before the position was known for having a bevy of guys who hit for pop. I always remember looking for his name in the box score because I went to grade school witha guy who looked exactly like Cedeno. His name was Bryan Butler.

Cedeno hit for the cycle on August 25, 1992 against the St. Louis Cardinals.

His best season was with the Astros in 1993, when he hit .286 with 11 homers and 56 RBIs. He was part of the trade in which former MVP Ken Caminiti was shipped from the Astros to the San Diego Padres.

Cedeno was killed on saturday, October 28th of 2000 when his car collided with a truck in the Dominican Republic. He was 31 years old.
