They give the superhuman 3 days rest, he comes back and hits 2 homeruns in one of the most historic venues in all of baseball. One cannot question that Bonds has a flair for the dramatics. Bonds finds himself just 2 homeruns away from tying Hank Aaron for the all time record.

The Cubs are playing at a white hot pace right now. Gramps Piniella has them really peaking and they’re just 3 1/2 games behind the Milwaukee Brewers. Suddenly my prediction for the Cubs going to the NLCS/World Series doesn’t look so stupid.

Yesterday would no doubt have been a perfect day to be at Wrigley Field. The Cubs are playing well (not that I care), Bonds limps into the lineup to hit two shots and adds another hit, afternoon ballgame, Cubs hold off the big charge from Bonds and his 6 RBI for another win. It was one hell of a baseball atmosphere in the ‘Chi’ yesterday.
