Blue Jays: Farewell to Buffalo

[Box Score]

The Toronto Blue Jays are headed back to Toronto at long last. It seems the charade that kept them from playing in their home city for nearly two years has been accomplished – whatever that may be in which we will learn.

Obviously, it was a fun little spell watching this nucleus grow up at Sahlen Field in Buffalo (and Dunedin for a short while). It was a stretch of time in which they played home games in opposing parks during the early stages of the pandemic.

Finally, on Wednesday night, they said goodbye to the magical little park in Buffalo. While it was a 7-4 loss to the first place Red Sox, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. hit his 32nd bomb of the season to put Toronto on the board.

When the game concluded, the social media team for the Blue Jays provided a hearty farewell.

It will be cool to see the Blue Jays finish their season in Canada, and hopefully Guerrero Jr. reaches the 40 home run plateau at home.

In the meantime, they need to try to get a few pieces at the trade deadline and make a run for the Wildcard.
