It’s one of those years for Vladimir Guerrero Jr. in 2021. He culminated a first half in which he was in Triple Crown contention with a 468 foot home run in the All-Star game. He became the youngest player aside from Johnny Bench to win the award, and had the game’s signature moment despite Shohei Ohtani picking up the victory for the American league.
Guerrero Jr. added another RBI later on in the contest.
I didn’t watch this game as intently as I have throughout my life for a myriad of reasons. Still, I’m happy to say that I saw Guerrero Jr. become the best hitter in the sport at a point in my life.
