Is Fernando Tatis Jr. the Best We Have Seen at This Moment?

[Box Score]

On Friday night in San Diego against the Arizona Diamondbacks, Fernando Tatis Jr. had one of the best games I’ve ever seen a young player have.

Indeed, his first three home run game of the year to give him 25 on the season. Altogether, he’s played in just 59 games.

He’s followed up the record contract with a performance that leaves me asking: is he the best 22-year old player the game has ever seen? The last time I remember a guy dominating like this, he was named Bonds.

All of this is so good for the game of baseball. It should attract new fans, because let’s face it; there’s nothing more exciting than seeing El Niño do his thing and dial long distance, and the kid sprays the entire park.

If he gets hot, he could hit 50 home runs in 100 games.
