Blue Jays: Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Home Run Fuels Comeback in Atlanta

[Box Score]

The Blue Jays got a dramatic rally in Atlanta to again steal one from the Braves and improve their season record to 18-16. Of course, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was at the center of it.

Guerrero Jr. hit his 8th home run of 2021, and rapped out three base hits.

This piece of hitting off Bryse Wilson was as fine of hitting as he’s done all year. This is not an easy area of Sun Trust Park in Atlanta to hit a home run, however Guerrero Jr. muscles a pitch that caught too much of the plate out the other way.

Ronald Acuña Jr. also homered in this game, but Guerrero Jr.’s big home run was the talk of the game. Furthermore, the Blue Jays seemed to have anointed a new dominant closer in Jordan Romano who locked down his first save of the season. He has the stuff that looks like he has staying power.
