White Sox: Carlos Rodon Throws 20th No-Hitter in Franchise History

[Box Score]

After an absolute classic on Tuesday night between Lucas Giolito and Shane Bieber, Carlos Rodon topped both performances in terms of hurling for the Chicago White Sox.

Equally important, this was a no-hitter in which I had the starting pitcher in my fantasy league lineup. Moreover, it was apparent that Rodon had this thing in the bag in the 6th or 7th inning.

First, let’s look at some of the hitting highlights.

Yermin Mercedes got all of another one for his third home run of the season to put the White Sox up big in the bottom of the first.

Also, Luis Robert had a couple knocks in this one. He’s starting to look better at the plate at the top of the Chicago lineup.

Finally, history took place as Carlos Rodon finished off his no-hitter. Remember, this is a guy who not only have we not tagged in post in a number of years; but it was questionable if he would really ever be able to return to the big leagues to pitch. The former high draft pick seems to have found the groove for the time being, and got some magic in the ninth to finish this historic night off.

It is the 20th time in White Sox history they’ve gotten a no-hitter. I’m proud to say that I watched and listened to this one. Rodon was really dominant, throwing 99 miles per hour in the ninth and commanding things all evening long with a little bit extra in the tank.

The White Sox are a dominant, exciting team in the making. Keep an eye on them.
