Byron Buxton is off to some kind of start. He hit his fourth home run of the early season in Minnesota’s home opener on Thursday, and it leads all of baseball.
This is something to keep an eye on. Plus, he’s hitting balls 452 feet like he hit this one, so they’re not cheapies.
Finally, as time goes on, Buxton’s talent is starting to shine through and normalize.
Byron Buxton's numbers are getting interesting.
In his last 162 games, he has only 146 starts and 552 plate appearances, which is unusually small.
He still has 40 doubles, 4 triples, and 27 homers in those games.
He also has 26 walks and 139 strikeouts, and just a .284 OBP.

If Buxton can just stay healthy, the Twins have a 7 to 10 WAR player on their hands, and possible MVP candidate. After all this time, it’s so great to see. He’s a really likable star and there’s a handful of people like us who have certainly kept the faith.
