Blue Jays Win Again in Front of Packed House in Texas

[Box Score]

By a show of hands, who out there had the Toronto Blue Jays who aren’t really going to appear in Toronto beginning the season 3-1 after a trip to the Bronx and then flying all the way out to Texas for the first full capacity sporting event since the COVID-19 pandemic began?

Obviously, not us. However, we didn’t have Steven Matz surviving and thriving to the tune of 6 and 1/3 innings, with 9 strikeouts and one earned run allowed.

Also, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. extended his hitting streak to four games by opening up the scoring in the first inning.

Later in the game, Cavan Biggio homered as did Marcus Semien who is proving to be a good lead-off option for the Jays. Randall Grichuk added a few more hits.

The Jays are an upstart team playing with house money it seems, and thus far it’s working out.
