Blue Jays: Toronto Miracle Walk-off in Buffalo Continues Cinderella Season

[Box Score] Nobody circles the wagons like the Buffalo Blue Jays. And on Friday night, down to their final strike, Randal Grichuk delivered the type of moment you would expect during a Cinderella season for Toronto.

Out towards the freeway that enters Niagara Falls into Ontario, Randal Grichuk left the yard at Sahlen Field with the Jays trailing 4-3.

Prior to all that, Mr. Black Lives Matter himself Vladimir Guerrero Jr. got the Jays on the board. He extended his hitting streak with his fifth home run of the season. One batter later, Teoscar Hernandez hit a bomb of his own to give the Jays a 2-0 lead.

These guys are fun, they’re upstart, and they’re 16-14 after 30 games of play. In this league in 2020, that earns you a Wildcard Playoff Series.

The Jays will battle every night, without food, water, or toilet over the final month to see if they can squeeze into the playoffs a year early. And often times that’s what happens with a team that is going to be good. They arrive a year ahead of schedule or ahead of the planned window.
