Blue Jays: Statement Win Over Red Sox Keeps Toronto Above .500

[Box Score]

The Toronto Blue Jays, aka the Buffalo Jays, aka the Stray Jays circled the wagons once more and beat the Boston Red Sox 9-1 at Sahlen Field in Buffalo on Wednesday night to pull above .500 and remain in the playoff hunt.

The game ended up becoming the first career win for Shun Yamaguchi. Moreover, since the Jays are officially in a playoff race, they went out and acquired a veteran arm in Taijuan Walker for the small price of some cold, hard cash.

In the game, Rowdy Tellez homered twice, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. extended his hitting streak with a 2-run double, and Randal Grichuk hit a bomb to put the Buffalo Jays on the board.

Finally, this is a pretty fun little upstart team that amongst all the weird circumstances the 2020 season has brought, is somehow in ‘contention’ speaking relatively.
