It’s amazing the things you learn. First, Ronald Acuña Jr. is cousins with Kansas City Royals shorstop Alcides Escobar. Second, Acuña recently said that he was being courted by not only the Atlanta Braves, but also the Royals.
However, the Royals felt the 6 foot, 180 pound superstar outfielder was too small.
Ronald said Kansas City told him he was too little and that the teams that saw him didn’t believed on him. The Braves saw him once and were the only ones that made him an offer. https://t.co/gmKg5PMbcm

Obviously, the rest is history. An injury in 2019 cost Acuña a 40-40 season, but he still cemented himself as one of the most exciting players in the sport. He signed a long-term extension with Atlanta before all of that.
The Royals aside from this blunder and a whole host of other teams look very silly right now.
