Blue Jays Unveil New Nike Powder Blue Uniforms

The Toronto Blue Jays rolled out their new powder blue alternates at their organization’s winterfest on Saturday morning. Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Bo Bichette, Randall Grichuk, and Cavan Biggio were on hand to display their new threads.

The organization teased the event for about an hour before unveiling a new cool video. Indeed, the past has returned. The Blue Jays first wore their powder blues in 1978.

Team president Mark Shapiro said the following:

“For years, Blue Jays fans have expressed a desire for the revival of the baby blues,” said Mark Shapiro, President & CEO of the Toronto Blue Jays, “We are thrilled to share this original New Blue alternate uniform with Blue Jays fans across Canada.”

Furthermore, here’s a tweet with the cool video set to The Who’s Teenage Wasteland.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was asked what he likes about the new uniforms. It was a cool moment, he waived off the help of his translator and simply said he likes how it makes his teammates look.

Toronto’s team president Mark Shapiro said that the team will wear the uniforms on Opening Day, and they can wear them as often as the players choose. It will be interesting to see how much the Blue Jays wear this new uniform with their home whites being a pretty awesome set already.
