Dodgers News: Los Angeles Shifting Focus To Signing Madison Bumgarner, Per Report

Undeniably, Madison Bumgarmer to the Los Angeles Dodgers would end up one of the odd surprises of the entire MLB off-season. Now, Ken Rosenthal reports that the Dodgers will make a run for the rival left-hander.

In the wake of losing out on Gerrit Cole to the New York Yankees, the Dodgers will shift the focus to adding the aging lefty. Equally important, in the big Winter Meetings recap post for Tuesday; I said I didn’t think the Dodgers would really do much at all or sign any of the guys they’re rumored to be in on.

I’ll stick with that prediction in that; the Dodgers miss out on Anthony Rendon who will sign with Texas. Then the Dodgers will focus on Bumgarner and someone like Josh Donaldson, and truly be in a tier-two free agent zone. Also, I think Hyun-Jin Ryu is finished as a Dodgers pitcher. I look for him to sign with the Twins, Angels, or Blue Jays.

Truly, the Dodgers look like a team totally content to run the same team out as they did in 2019 and just see what happens. Without question, it’s been an uninspired effort from the Dodgers front office and ownership thus far in the winter months of 2019.
