Craig Kimbrel Throws Cubs 2019 Season Away

It’s the ninth inning at Wrigley Field on Saturday. After a gut-wrenching, flat loss to begin the baseball weekend at Wrigley on Friday afternoon by a 2-1 final; the Cubs were two games out of the Wildcard race and desperately needed a win.

Tony Kemp hit a clutch two-run home run to put the Cubs up 8-7, and Chicago got it to the ninth inning still in the lead to bring in their megabucks closer; Craig Kimbrel. And then, the tower moment happened.

Indeed – on back-to-back pitches – Kimbrel allowed home runs to Yadier Molina and then Paul Dejong. Let’s take a look how the Cubs’ 2019 season ends on subsequent pitches in front of a packed house on a Saturday.

And that will about do it for all intensive purposes for the Cubs. It’s not to say they can’t circle the wagons in the final week. But it seems like Milwaukee and Washington have this thing locked in.

Craig Kimbrel and the Cubs lost me a lot of money the last two days on these games. The Cardinals continue their consistent act of being a perpetual pain in the ass for everyone involved.
