Mets: Pete Alonso Hits 41st Home Run of 2019

Pete Alonso is having a historic rookie season. His last home run broke the rookie home run record previously held by Cody Bellinger. Now, he’s got a share of the New York Mets single-season record by hitting his 41st on Saturday night. Furthermore, the Polar Bear did it wearing all white ugly Players Weekend uniforms.

It also gave Alonso 100 RBI on the season. He’s having an incredible year, and has a chance to string together some great power seasons over the next few years. We are going to enjoy the ride.

The Braves defeated the Mets 9-5 in Flushing. The Metropolitans are going to need to get it going a bit to make the Wildcard a reality. The Mets are two back of the wildcard as games close on Saturday evening, but they have to leapfrog a few teams.
