Blue Jays, Vlad Jr. Face Kershaw In Socal Dodgers Match-up

On Tuesday night in Los Angeles, the Dodgers welcome the young Toronto Blue Jays for the first time since the 2006 season. You can check out the Caesars Promo Code, as the Los Angeles Dodgers are around -330 favorites with Clayton Kershaw (12-2, 2.63 ERA) pitching against opener Buddy Boshers (he’s an opener, and an ERA over 8.00).

Furthermore, the Dodgers are an 82-win team that should really pad their stats and give the 52-win doormat Blue Jays fit if all goes according to plan tonight. The preview from baseball-reference is right here.

Therefore, reasons to watch are you get to see young hitters like Vladimir Guerrero Jr. – who returns to the lineup tonight – and Bo Bichette against a veteran ace like Clayton Kershaw. Then, you also get to see NL MVP candidate Cody Bellinger.

Earlier Monday, two things happened:

  1. Bellinger was declared the odds-on frontrunner in an MLB.com article to win the award taking 29 of 32 first-place votes.
  2. Mike Trout tied Bellinger for the league lead with 42 home runs.

Moreover, I think Bellinger has an excellent shot to go yard tonight against the moribund Toronto staff. Really, all the Dodgers should pad their stats the next three days after losing two of three in Atlanta.

Finally, here are a few links pertaining to Toronto’s Guerrero, we’re just glad the guy didn’t have his season end with a knee injury that sidelined him over the weekend.

Guerrero Jr. Bonus

First, there was a podcast released where they talk about the concern of Guerrero Jr.’s playing weight. This will be an interesting listen. Earlier in the week the Blue Jays talked about moving Guerrero off third base, and GM Ross Atkins seemed bullish about him playing at the position for a long time. Atkins believes that Guerrero Jr. can be a plus player over there.

If that is to happen, Guerrero will need to lose a little bit of weight to keep the stress off his legs. Remember, they have been resting Guerrero Jr. every few days and it seems peculiar.

Guerrero Jr./Tatis Jr. FS1 Documentary

On Saturday night at 10 PM ET on FS1, ‘IN THE BLOOD’ will premiere about the two sons of former Major League players Vladimir Guerrero and Fernando Tatis. Of course, this features their junior-esque versions and will really be an interesting watch. I need to remember to set my DVR.

I am really looking forward to this Guerrero Jr. content that I found while getting around twitter, and checking out to see what he does in his first trip to Dodger Stadium.
