Mets: Pete Alonso Visits the Upper Deck in Queens

[Box Score]

It’s been a long time since a New York Met caught my interest in any way, but Pete Alonso has done it.

He hit a 458 foot shot into the upper deck at Citi Field on Saturday. It was his 23rd of the season. As a rookie, he’s reminding me a little of Aaron Judge in the fact that well; it’s his first season, and I think he has a legit shot at 50 home runs which he should have no business at.

Here’s the blast.

I made a deal to acquire Alonso in fantasy baseball. It hurt, as I sent Max Muncy and Raisel Iglesias over to a contender. But you know what? I am okay with this. At just 24-years old, this seems like a poor man’s Paul Goldschmidt who I could get used to for a long time.

I started out thinking he’s Ike Davis from the right-side 2.0, and now I am thinking he’s got a decent little comp in Goldy. Visit betting.com to get all the MLB news.
