Easter Sunday Night Baseball: Dodgers Bludgeon Giants 9-0

[Box Score]

The Dodgers are 1-0 in April. They won a big game on ESPN Sunday Night Baseball. It was a welcome addition to get Matt Vasgersian in the booth with Alex Rodriguez and Jessica Mendoza.

Rich Hill gave the Dodgers six scoreless innings. In 25 innings this season thus far, the Dodgers starting pitching has allowed one earned run. Pretty incredible stuff. Suddenly, you realize in a four game series they held the Giants to just two runs after last night’s 5-0 win.

As a whole, the Dodgers looked better at the plate. Yasiel Puig had three hits. Corey Seager had a big knock to get things going in general. Chris Taylor had a couple knocks. But the big blow that put this one away was a beautiful swing by the showstopper; Cody Bellinger.

Here’s Cody Bellinger’s 40th home run of his career, and first of 2018. This came off lefty Josh Osich, it’s important to note.

My dad was over of course after Easter dinner. He stayed for the game. He went into how Bellinger is the next Mickey Mantle and all that great stuff.

It was a really nice Easter, and this topped it off. My kids, wife and I went to church. We had an egg hunt. My sister and parents came over. We had a really nice visit and dinner. For one night, all was right with the world.
