Opening Day Thor Start

Noah Syndergaard is my favorite pitcher in the big leagues right now. Then the list is short. Clayton Kershaw, Rich Hill, Luis Severino, Kenley Jansen, and still and always Homer Bailey.

The thing with Syndergaard is he’s about the only thing worth watching on the Mets right now. If he could ever make a full season of starts he would end up with some kind of modern-day Doc Gooden type season. Fact is, it’s a matter of time until his tendon ends up on Dr. James Andrews’ fireplace mantle. But that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t relish him until his arm falls off.

Thor will start on Opening Day for the Mets at Citi Field when they take on the Cardinals. Here’s to Noah shoving for nine innings that day and knowing the way the Mets do things, they’ll let him throw 125 pitches on a cold day (just how it should be!).

The guy is must see television. We were tuning into every start last season until he got hurt. Unfortunately then we panicked and traded him off our keeper league fantasy team. We’ll never see him again. That’s why in the end it’s not good to love any pitcher.
