The 2017 All-Star Game in Miami

[Box Score]

So, moments. And in no particular order:

  • Mookie Betts’ electric throw from centerfield to nail Nolan Arenado at second base.
  • Jose Ramirez went 2-2 with a steal.
  • Miguel Sano had a base knock (bloop) that made it 1-0.
  • Yadier Molina became the first Cardinal to homer in an All Star Game to homer since Reggie Smith, and it tied the game 1-1.
  • My boy Corey Seager bounced into a double play.
  • Bryce Harper asked Joe Buck about Dak Prescott’s upcoming season while being mic’d up. I wanted a ball to be roped at him so badly during this inning, but it didn’t find him.
  • Giancarlo Stanton had a couple K’s and a two foot ground-out tapper in front of his home fans.
  • Joe West took a selfie with Nelson Cruz.
  • Favorite part of the game was the Bronx Tale spot with Aaron Judge and Chaz Palminteri:

  • Robinson Cano won it with a homer in the top of the 10th, final score 2-1.
  • Corey Seager laced a ball off Andrew Miller in the bottom of the 10th, Miller got the save.

The game overall felt largely slow, boring, and just like the guys didn’t want to be there. I wanted to just watch it due to civic duty. I watched it all. I’m looking forward to the second half getting started on Friday.
