Big day for Stanton in New York

With the focus on Aaron Judge lately, Giancarlo Stanton has been under some fire. But you look up today – after his huge two homer game in New York – and he’s sitting at an .884 OPS with 10 homers and 25 RBI.

The Marlins ran away with the game, it was never close. And Stanton is doing just fine. He’s putting up these numbers and he hasn’t really even gotten hot yet. He’s in prime position still to reach 40+ homers for the first time. The Marlins are just an okay team, as you would expect them to be when things are going good. But they have some pieces offensively.

In my mind, Stanton is still the most elite of those pieces. He’s on the cusp of something big. He’s a good couple of weeks away from having one of the better seasons in baseball going.
