Giancarlo Stanton’s assault of 50 home runs continues

Everyone is talking about Eric Thames (8 homers), Bryce Harper (7), Freddie Freeman (7), even Khris Davis (7) and Aaron Judge (6) as the premiere power guys in baseball.

Until a few days ago when Giancarlo Stanton entered Petco Park, he was stuck on a quiet four home runs. Whenever Stanton enters the state of California, he should have a warrant on him. For whatever reason, he turns Dodger Stadium and Petco Park into a hitter’s paradise; slamming arcade game home runs all over the damn place. He had just four home runs entering the weekend, and now at the end of tonight he’s right up there with the league’s big boys with seven after an opposite field homer in last night’s loss in the ninth, and two laser beam shots near that metal supply building structure in left field tonight in the Marlins extra inning win. Here’s the first one of those.

Stanton is going to make a run at 50 home runs if he doesn’t get hurt and miss time. This is going to be his one season on the back of his card that stands out. It has that look to it. You heard it here first.
