Giancarlo Stanton crushes Mets with laser home run to dead center

It was just a matter of time. Giancarlo Stanton is healthy, he looks good, he’s locked in. He’s going to have a monstrous power year. We really enjoy him.

Career home run number 211 was a dramatic one. You see, the Marlins are a pesky breed. They waited out Jacob deGrom through all the swings and misses, he racked up 13 strikeouts; but the Marlins simply wouldn’t die. Fernando Salas entered the game to try to get it to the ninth, and Christian Yelich hit a game tying home run to make the score 4-4.

Then Stanton got his chance. Love the call of this one and what is usually a tepid crowd in Miami seemingly erupting. It was a great moment for the upstart Marlins, who have taken this series after facing Noah Syndergaard and now Jacob deGrom.

Here’s Stanton’s third long ball of the 2017 season:

Marlins final holds up at 5-4. They’re to 6-5 on the season. They play inspired, tough, gritty baseball. We’ve watched them a good bit – and they just seem to battle night in and night out.
