Coors Monster Devours Clayton Kershaw whole

The Dodgers could have won us a lot of money tonight by simply delivering a win; but it wasn’t in the cards. You could feel it early on.

Other than a solo home run from Andrew Toles (whom we love), the Dodgers just had nothing going offensively against Jon Gray.

Nolan Arenado hit a laser shot home run off Clayton Kershaw in the bottom of the first inning to make it 1-0. From there, Mark Reynolds hit a two-run shot about 450 feet and Gerardo Parra followed up with a solo job.

Corey Seager had four at-bats in which three of them he made weak contact, he did drive one to the warning track in left field that was caught but wore the collar going 0 for 4.

The Dodgers now sit at 3-3 while the Rockies have jumped out to a surprising 5-1 start. And with the pen arms the Rockies are running out this year – Mike Dunn, Jake McGee, Adam Ottavino, Greg Holland, and Carlos Estevez – they’re just constructed a bit differently if they get a quality start. They’re going to have a chance to really compete this year and shorten ballgames.

That’s shown up in the first two games of this series – both have which have been typically low scores at Coors Field of 2-1 and 4-2.
