Cubs insist on visiting POTUS who has done nothing for their city at White House

So a couple things here, in the wake of the World Series Champion Cubbies visiting President Obama, who is in office a whopping four more days.

  1. I will never understand why 90% of bloggers and writers are left wing or liberal? It’s something I started to notice back in 2008 or so. That being a conservative who writes on the internet I am in an extreme minority. It’s neither good, bad, or indifferent. It’s just something I’ve noticed, and I’m somewhat fascinated by.
  2. Sites like Deadspin and Hardball Talk are still almost daily stops for me. But their pushing of left-wing public agenda (their editors are very left-wing) is very off-putting; and judging by the comment section I am hardly the only one who notices or is a little bothered by it. Deadspin should stick to sports. Hardball Talk should stick to baseball. If I wanted to read politics, I would be on Politico or some site like that.
  3. Obama cracked his usual crummy dental-humor type joke “took you guys long enough” is the one I heard. My joke is at least the guy is finishing his term strong, you know as he has all the way through; accomplishing so much and doing important things. He is a celebrity, a great celebrity. Really good at appearing on ESPN and showing us his bracket.
  4. If you are my friend and our views are different, you’re still my friend. I like you for reasons other than your views. I hope you don’t hate me for mine. I feel like people who like Obama or Hillary Clinton are allowed to broadcast it on my Facebook timeline. When I mention that I voted for Donald Trump, I’m a horrible misogynist racist monster. Seems unfair, to me.

So the most fascinating thing to me is that the Cubs insisted on going to the White House before Obama leaves office on Friday. I mean do these guys read the paper? Do they know what is going on in Chicago? The city that surrounds them? For those of you who are keeping score at home – Chicago is basically upside down as a city. It’s swallowing itself by the day.

In 2016, 762 people were murdered in Chicago. That’s a 63 percent increase from the 468 murders recorded in 2015 and almost double the murders in 2014, according to Chicago Police.

Shootings also are way up — 4,331 people were shot in Chicago in 2016, up from 3,550 in 2015, according to police.

So why is the guy glorified? He’s done nothing for that city. It is a horrible, crime-ridden mess. There are many other big cities like it; but Chicago is now known as ground zero murder capital of the world. And it’s Obama’s home city. He didn’t seem to really care about making it a better place.

And it brings about a larger point I’ve noticed. Democrats like Obama and Clinton will show up election after election and take the African-American vote and act like they’re some kind of great advocate for the people that are inhabitants of major cities; they take the vote and then see you in four years. They do nothing for these people. They don’t care. So again, why is Obama glorified in Chicago like he’s some kind of greatest POTUS of all-time?

All of the African Americans I know that voted for Obama and cheered the ‘Change’ we were going to see – they still live in the same neighborhoods they did eight years ago – if they’re lucky. I fail to see where it really got any better for them. If you want to use Chicago as an example, it’s a perfect example of how nothing improved.

I’m pretty sure this is the first political post of any type on this blog. I don’t understand how the Chicago Cubs and most professional athletes (Jake Arrieta, you are excluded brother; thanks for having a clue about the way things really are) seem to have a slant towards the left-wing for absolutely no good reason at all. I work in an industry where I got to watch the economy tank daily and interest rates drop to an all-time low because of how poor Obama was for the economy.

In closing, Friday is going to be a great day. Is Donald Trump perfect? Hell no. He puts his foot in his mouth and should tweet less. Is he a racist? Hell no, he’s not. But I firmly believe he’s less evil than that of the Clinton Machine and he will do more for this country than Barry Obama. He cares about all people; not just a senseless Black Lives Matter movement that did more to separate and divide the country than it did to unite it.

The Chicago Cubs – if they voted as a team to visit The White House because they love Obama so much as a team – then shame on them. Chicago is underwater as a city. It’s like they missed the part about being informed about what is really going on with the world and just mailed it in because they’re celebrities and got on the Obama train which was always headed to nowhere. Truth hurts baby.
