The Pirates are bringing back the We Are Family Uniforms

The Pittsburgh Pirates are in the trend of trendsetting, being the first team to use matte-finish batting helmets last season.

This season, they’re bringing back the 1979 iconic look (piping hat included) ‘We Are Family’ uniforms.

Despite being a road uniform in the Willie Stargell era, the Pirates will wear this set at PNC Park this season. As long as teams keep their classic sets and don’t make any real changes to them (sometimes they do), we’re cool with mixing in a classic alternate every now and again. It spices up the game.
